Democracy Restored, PDP Commends Tribunal Judgment in Plateau State

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Postponed Imo Governorship Campaign Flag-off

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its appreciation for the decision of the Governorship Petition Election Tribunal Court in Plateau, Jos, to uphold the victory of their party member.

Caleb Mutfwang, the governorship candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party, faced off primarily against Nentawe Goshwe, the candidate from the All Progress Congress (APC)and other prominent parties in the state.

Following the declaration of Mutfwang as the legitimate winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the APC contested the results and brought the matter to the tribunal.

On Friday, in September 2023, the tribunal confirmed Caleb’s election victory, prompting the PDP to issue a statement celebrating the restoration of democracy in the nation.

The party has experienced several setbacks in the tribunal, notably in the case of their presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku, whose loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was seen by the party as a miscarriage of justice and a disregard for the rule of law.
