EFCC Arrested Two Suspected Internet Fraudsters on Skales Residence

The Nigerian EFCC operatives have arrested  Udemba Chukwuemeka (also known as Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (also known as Jamal) on suspicion of their involvement in fraudulent internet activities, particularly related to romance scams.

On October 10, 2023, Lagos Command Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos arrested two suspected internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as “Yahoo boys,” at House F10 in Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos State.

According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested at the residence of a Nigerian popular musician, John Njeng Njeng also known as Skales.

The EFCC further stated that the individuals suspected of internet fraud are involved in dating scams and claimed that Skales serves as their mentor in this illicit Yahoo-related endeavour.

EFCC statement reads, “The two suspects,  suspected of being involved in a dating scam, described Njeng as their ” mentor”. While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for a few months.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has announced that as soon as the investigation is completed, the suspects will be taken to court for prosecution.
