Governor Alex Otti Reopens General Hospital in Amachara and Renovates Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has taken significant steps to enhance healthcare facilities in the region. Notably, he has reopened the General Hospital in Amachara and undertaken extensive renovations at the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre.

Governor Otti’s vision for these hospitals extends beyond physical improvements; he has also prioritized essential utilities like water supply and ensured a consistent power supply, making them more reliable and accessible. Additionally, he emphasized that these upgrades are geared towards equipping the healthcare facilities to combat modern diseases and deliver high-quality healthcare services to the residents.

With a commitment to reducing the need for residents to seek medical care outside Abia State, Governor Otti aims to make healthcare more accessible locally.

“Our target is to restore all our primary and secondary health institutions in the state to optimal functionality. We want to ensure that no resident of Abia will need to travel out of the state for medical concerns”.  he added,

Furthermore, the governor issued a stern warning to those involved in the theft of medical equipment, stating that they would face legal consequences for their actions. He reassured residents that more improvements and facilities are on the horizon, promising continued efforts to address their needs.

Governor Otti expressed gratitude to Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, the Commissioner for Health, SSA on Special Duties, Dr. Betty Emeka Obasi, the State Ministry of Health, and the management of HMB for their unwavering commitment to progress in the state. He affirmed his administration’s dedication to solving the people’s problems and enhancing their quality of life.
