Nigerian Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has issued a cautionary message to those seeking attention, urging them to refrain from exploiting John Okafor, widely recognized as Mr. Ibu, and his recent health challenges to criticize the Nollywood industry or other individuals.
In a widely circulated video shared on social media, Kanayo condemned Reno Omokri for calling out Peter Obi to take Mr Ibu’s medical bills.
It is worth noting that John Okafor, a prominent Nigerian comic actor, recently faced a health issue, during which he reached out to the public for assistance. He stressed the need for prayers and financial support from fellow Nigerians.
Kanayo also issued a warning to VeryDarkBlackMan, stating that he lacks the authority to criticize Nollywood actors regarding Mr. Ibu’s health condition. VeryDarkBlackMan had expressed his opinion, suggesting that Nollywood and other industries should establish a platform where their legendary figures will be financially recognized for their immense contributions to the industry.
He further stated that Nigeria has let down its legends and emphasized the need for citizens to unite in creating enduring legacies for these revered individuals.
However, his viewpoint did not align with Nigerian actor Kanayo, who pointed out that many individuals extend assistance without garnering public attention.
Kanayo also expressed gratitude towards William Uchemba, highlighting his efforts in constructing infrastructure for disadvantaged communities and continuously providing support without seeking recognition.
