Nigerian social media influencer, Reno Omokri, strongly criticized social activist and former Vice President of the World Bank’s Africa division, Obiageli Ezekwesili, for her vocal stance on demanding accountability and transparency from the national assembly.
Ezekwesili has been outspoken about the National Assembly’s attempt to allocate millions of dollars for the purchase of SUVs using public funds, accusing them of manipulating their way into office.
she wrote, “Crass behavior all year round from an irresponsible political class. Just because most of you rigged yourselves into public office @nassnigeria, you feel entitled to an indulgent life funded by the miserable public treasury of a country you badly govern, with the majority of poor people barely eking out a living.
“There’s a sell-by-date for this recurring rascality and make no mistakes, you all will bring that date forward with your shenanigans. Incorrigible bunch of LawBreakers”.
Reno Omokri expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of Nigerian social activist, Obiageli Ezekwesili. He observed that Ezekwesili was strongly criticizing the House of Representatives for their purchase of SUVs for members and calling for transparency and accountability. Omokri further suggested that Ezekwesili should set an example of accountability within her own party before accusing others of similar actions.
He wrote, “Oby Ezekwesili is today blasting the House of Representatives over the SUVs they bought for members. She wants more transparency in government. Has @obyezeks been transparent about the donations she received from Nigerians over her failed Presidential campaign?
“Has she published her audited accounts? She was accused by her party of corruptly misappropriating the donations. Or does she think we have forgotten?
“Should Oby not lead by example and first tell Nigerians how she spent money donated to her, before pointing at the Representatives who have at least been straightforward about how much they spent and where the money came from?”.
Reno Omokri, a former spokesperson for the PDP, has consistently defended Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential aspirations against various forms of criticism, raising questions among Nigerians about his loyalty to Atiku Abubakar.
