NNPP: Rabiu Kwakwanso Expels From The Party

Nigerian presidential candidate from the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) has been expelled from the party following its suspension on August 29 over allegations of mismanagement of funds and anti-party engagements.

The New Nigeria People party suspended Rabiu Kwakwanso over fund mismanagement and anti-party activities which resulted in the party creating a disciplinary committee for the resolution.

The acting National Publicity Secretary of New Nigeria Peoples Party had a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, disclosing the immediate effect of Kwkwanso’s refusal to attend the disciplinary committee.

In a statement disclosed, he said “The NEC met in an emergency session on Friday, September 1, and resolved as follows:

“Following the refusal of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to appear before the disciplinary committee, which sat on Thursday, August 31, after being duly invited in writing, he is hereby expelled from NNPP with immediate effect.

“That the erstwhile presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will be reported to appropriate quarters to answer questions on financial impropriety relating to mismanagement of public funds.

NNPP party member Ladipo Johnson said that the Agbo faction has no authority to expel or dismiss the former governor.

Ladipo Johnson said, “Expel who? These people are no longer our people. They are out of the party and cannot speak on behalf of the party. Let them form their own party or go to court. It is as simple as that. There are so many important things to worry about in this country.

The NNPP conundrum has been going on since August after the suspension of Dr. Agbo Major and Dr Boniface Aniebonam, and the internal wrangling has led to the suspension of their key member Rabiu Kwakwanso.
