Tribunal: Jandon’s Petitions Dismissed Due to Lack Of Merit

On Monday, September 25, 2023, the Lagos Governorship Election Petition Court dismissed the petition filed by Azeez Olajide, also known as Jadon, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The legal dispute commenced following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the victor of the gubernatorial election conducted on March 18, 2023.

Azeez Olajide Adeniran had approached the tribunal court seeking to contest the victory of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent Governor of Lagos state.

Nonetheless, the Lagos Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, presided over by a three-member panel led by Mikai Abdullahi at the Ikeja Court House, ruled that the petitions submitted by Jandon lacked merit.
