US Court Orders Chicago State University to Release Bola Ahmed Academic Records

Tinubu Appointed New Leadership Across Investment, Industry And Trade Sectors

The United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois has approved a request made by the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to access Bola Ahmed’s educational records from Chicago State University (CSU).

Amidst the controversy surrounding Bola Ahmed’s educational records, Atiku filed a petition against Chicago State University (CSU) in an attempt to obtain Bola’s records. Initially, the university rejected the request but later confirmed that the Nigerian president is indeed a legitimate student of CSU.

Chicago State University has asserted that it will solely disclose academic records upon receipt of a court’s decision.

Honourable Judge Gilbert has ordered the Chicago State University to release all the academic records of Bola Ahmed Tinubu including “all relevant and non-privileged documents” to Atiku Abubakar.

The US Magistrate Gilbert said, “This matter is before the Court on Atiku Abubakar’s Application Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1782 for an Order Directing Discovery from Chicago State University for Use in a Foreign Proceeding (“Application”) [ECF No. 1]. For the reasons discussed below, the Application is granted,”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the victor of the general election. Following this declaration, Atiku Abubakar and Mr Gregory Peter Obi took their case to the Presidential Election Petition Court. They raised concerns regarding technicalities, electoral irregularities, dual nominations, and allegations related to drug issues in an attempt to disqualify Ahmed Bola. However, the Presidential Election Petition Court ultimately ruled in favour of Bola, confirming his presidency.
