Zamfara University, Bandits Kidnap Students

On Friday, September 22, 2023, a group of bandits launched an assault on the Sabon-Gida community within Zamfara state’s Bungudu Local Government Area, resulting in the abduction of numerous students from a private hostel.

According to Eons Intelligence on the platform now known as X, previously referred to as Twitter, reported, “A significant number of armed bandits, wielding dangerous weapons, attacked Sabon Gida village in Zamfara state, at about 0300hrs of today. During the attack, an unspecified number of students from the Federal University Gusau, including female students, were abducted. The assailants gained access to three separate hostels and kidnapped all the students within”.

Zamfara state has experienced a sequence of occurrences, including bandit attacks on communities, the abduction of residents, and extensive acts of lawlessness, often involving negotiations with national security agencies.
